Synopsis: This original fan fiction takes place one hour before day 7 is about to start. President Allison Taylor prepares to address the media regarding recent events in Africa. The FBI discovers a possible threat to national security, and Jack Bauer prepares for his trial.

Jack Bauer is sitting down on his bed having just woken up. He looks over at the clock and realizes he has to be at his trial in less than one hour. The hotel has a nice view of Washington D.C., and as Jack gets out of bed he walks over to his window and looks on, and begins to anticipate what is going to happen at his trial. Clearing his thoughts he begins to go get ready.

WHITE HOUSE

President Allison Taylor is seen walking out of her room, and her secret service agents all greet her as she proceeds down the hallway. One of her assistants approaches her and greets her good morning before handing her a draft for her speech later on regarding the events in Africa. As she stops to read it, her husband approaches behind her, and the two embrace. They begin to walk together to the oval office.

As the President enters her office, and approaches her desk she stops to look at a photo on her desk of her son, who died days after she took office. It was a big story on the news, and many people questioned if she would be able to run as President following such a horrific crisis with her son. Her husband stops and puts his hands on her shoulder to comfort her, and tells her that he misses him too.

A man driving in a nice sports car parks his car at a nearby parking lot. Soon thereafter another car approaches and parks right next to the car. A man in all black gets out of the vehicle. He approaches the sports car, and the man in the sports car is seen holding onto a briefcase. The man from the sports car asks about the money. The man in all black replies that it is in his trunk, and he will need to follow him to the trunk to retrieve the money. The driver from the sports car complies, and follows to the man's trunk. However, as soon as the trunk opens the man from the sports car is shot dead. We slowly realize that the man wearing the dark shaded sunglasses is none other than Tony Almeida who calmly drives away with the briefcase.

FBI WASHINGTON D.C. FIELD OFFICE

Agent Janis Gold arrives at her desk for another long day at work. Her, and the whole entire FBI Staff have been wrapped up into this African situation the past few months. She takes a drink of her coffee, and begins to look over data on her computer. One of her colleagues walks over, and hands her a report about suspicious chatter involving a possible terrorist threat. Janis looks over the paper work that contains a transcript of a recent phone call made in a Internet cafe late last night. The transcript talks about a package being delivered at around 6AM around in a local shopping mall parking lot. The rest of the transcript mentioned something about payment being received to a off shore account in return for the package. She continues to scan the transcript for anything relevant, and found it when the conversation mentioned something about an attack on the government firewall system. Janis quickly jumps out of her seat to deliver this information to her superior.

Tony Almeida is driving on the freeway when he receives a phone call. He picks up the phone, and the other gentlemen on the other line is a man name Masters. Tony confirms he has the briefcase, and the man on the other line mentions that this device will allow them to bypass the firewall to cripple the government's computer infrastructure. Tony then asks how long Masters thinks it will take until they are in their systems. Masters mentions that it would be done within the next few hours.

Jack Bauer is looking at himself in the mirror, and adjusting his suit for the trial. He finishes and takes a deep breath, and begins heading out of his hotel room. As he walks out he knocks over his duffle bag and a small photo books falls out. A picture had fallen out that showed his wife Teri Bauer, his daughter Kim Bauer, and himself on one of their many vacations. He picks it up and begins to wonder what happened to his life, and why did things have to turn out the way they did for him. He misses his daughter, Teri, and even Audrey, but knows deep down Audrey and Kim will never be safe if he is around them. Teri on the other hand was never given a chance, and Jack knew her death was because of his job. He has still to this day never forgiven himself for that. Putting the photos back in the book, he stuffs it into his bag, puts on his sunglasses, and walks out of the hotel into the lobby.

WASHINGTON SENATE BUILDING

Chole O'Brian is seen getting out of a Taxi, she begins to head to the courthouse where she is expected to testify on Jack's behalf about why Jack is innocent, and only did the things he did because he had too. On her way up the courtroom steps she is greeted by a familiar figure, who appears to be none other then her former boss Bill Buchannon who is also here on Jack's behalf. Bill and Chloe embrace, and catch up with each other as they walk into the courthouse together.

Tony Almeida pulls up to an abandoned industrial area. He walks out of his car to be greeted by two men both carrying two pistols. Tony walks over to the trunk, and opens it to retrieve the briefcase he had acquired earlier. The two men escort Tony into a nearby building.

FBI WASHINGTON D.C. FIELD OFFICE CONFERENCE ROOM

Janis Gold is discussing the threat she discovered to her co-workers. The conference room consists of Agent Walker, Agent Price, Agent Hillinger, and members of the FBI System Analyst. Among them is also Special Agent in Charge Larry Moss. Moss reviews the evidence, and deems this a credible threat, and sends Agent Walker and Price to go to the disclosed location in the transcript where the exchange was suppose to happen. Walker, and Price storm out of the conference room to head to the destination.

WHITE HOUSE

6:30:11...
Allison Taylor sits on her desk in the oval office, and joining her in the room is her Chief of Staff Ethan Kain. Kain tells her the press conference is about to begin in five minutes. Taylor looks over her statement, and begins to get ready to go outside and address the press regarding the situation in Africa.

WASHINGTON SENATE BUILDING

Chloe O'Brian is sitting outside in the court house on her cell phone. On the other line is her husband Morris O'Brian. Morris insists her that their baby is ok, and that Morri's sister is taking care of their baby for the weekend while they are in Washington D.C. Chloe then finally agrees, and asks Morris how much longer until his flight lands in D.C. He says probably in a few hours because he is flying in from Los Angeles, and they just boarded the airplane. She hangs up the phone as Bill walks up to hand her a cup of coffee, and they begin to discuss the situation with Jack, and how things have changed for them once CTU was disbanded.

Jack Bauer parks his car outside the courthouse, and is greeted by two individuals that escort him into the court house. Jack walks with them, and enters the courthouse, and begins to head towards the elevator to head up to the court room. Before he enters the elevator he gets a quick glimpse at Bill and Chole who are sitting further down from the elevator they both acknowledge seeing each other, but Jack is rushed into the elevator by the two escorts before he can say anything. Chole and Bill have not seen Jack since after the events of Day 6. Chole has a worried look on her face, that things are going to end up badly for Jack again. She mentions to Bill that Jack has very bad luck.


WHITE HOUSE

Allison Taylor is giving her Press Conference to the press regarding the situation in Africa over the last several weeks. Ethan Kain receives a phone call, and it is his assistant calling. Kain steps away from the conference, and answers. His assistant tells him he has the FBI Field Office Director on the line, and it is urgent regarding National Security. Ethan answers, and Moss relays to him about the viable threat they may have uncovered. Ethan asks if they have any solid evidence of this threat, but Moss says his Agents on route to lead right now, and should be contacting him back shortly. Kain then mentions to call him back with the evidence before he brings this to the Presidents attention. He says the last thing he wants is for President Taylor to worry about another threat when it may not even be a threat. Moss agrees, and says he will get back to him

WASHINGTON GRAND TOWN MALL

Agent Walker and Price arrive at the shopping mall, and begin driving around looking for anything suspicious. They decided to just investigate with them only to not alert anyone. The mall parking lot seems to be dead because the mall will not be open for a couple of hours. Walker in the passenger seats says she sees a car in the parking structure to their left. Agent Price who is driving, enters the parking structure. They spot a man trying to stuff something into a trunk from afar. The man is on the phone with Tony Almeida, and confirms to him that he has the body, and will get rid of it. Tony then relays to him that it is vital no one finds that body because that body could jeopardize their mission. He proceeds to enter the driver seat to drive off, but Agent Price drives the car and corners the car's exit. Realizing he can no longer escape with the car, and body he makes a run for it.

Agent Walker and Price stop the car, and begin pursuit of the suspect. Agent Renee Walker gets on her cell phone as she runs after the suspect, and requests immediate backup. Walker nods to Price who cuts off in another direction to try and cut the suspect off. Walker continues to run, and loses sight of the suspect when he had jumped a fence leading into a construction site behind the mall.

Agent Price still hot on the trail of the suspect follows him through the construction site. The suspect had turn a corner around some storage crates, and now Agent Price with his gun drawn proceeds to walk slowly through them. Price turns another corner, but the suspect surprises him with a right hand knocking price down. The suspect dashes for the Agent's gun, and quickly picks it up and executes the Agent in the head with a shot. Agent Walker from nearby hears the gunshot, and runs into it's direction. As Walker runs up she sees the body of her partner lying dead on the floor with a gunshot to the head. A gunshot shoots right past her and hits a crate. Walker rolls out of the way and turns around and puts two shots to the chest, and one to the head of the suspect who killed her partner, and tried to kill her. She runs up with her gun drawn to make sure the suspect is down, and calls into the FBI field office.

Walker gets through to Agent Gold, and tells her the situation, and that Agent Price has been shot dead. Walker tells her to pull security footage from that parking lot at the beginning of the hour when the meeting was suppose to take place. A team of six other FBI Agents and ten Washington D.C. Police units arrive behind her. She takes three of the other FBI Agents to head back to the car of the suspect while the others secure the crime scene.

6:51:08....
Arriving at the car, Agent Walker opens the trunk, and discovers a body of a deceased individual who had been shot once in the heart. She pulls out the man's wallet, and identifies his name as John Grannon. Agent Walker calls back to the FBI Office, and asks Agent Gold to run a John Grannon into the database, and find out who he is, and what he does. While Gold is running the search, she tells Walker that the security footage they pulled from the parking structure showed another man arriving earlier to meet with the victim in the trunk. They have a good image of a closeup of the man who was there earlier. She sends the image to Agent Walker's cell phone. The image is of none other then Tony Almeida. However, the FBI agent have no name to this face, and Walker tells Gold to match this face up with everyone in the database.

Agent Hillinger who was working on the search for who John Grannon was, gets a search results, and relays it over to Agent Walker. John Grannon, a former government contractor who was responsible for creating, and creating a security firewall, for one of many mainframe computers used by the US Government. This confirms the threat from the transcript, and Walker tells Hillinger to forward this information to Moss, and to alert the white house of a possible threat.

Agent Gold calls Walker back, and tells him the face is of a individual by the name of Tony Almedia, a former Counter Terrorist Unit Agent, and Special Agent in Charge of the Los Angeles Division. However, Gold then says the funny thing is this man is deceased. She reads Tony's file, and mentions that he died in the medical labs of CTU a little over six years ago. Agent Walker says that can't be right, and then asks about an autopsy report, Gold replies that it says here an autopsy was never done, but a body was cremated immediatley following his death. Walker then asks about any known family members, friends or associates we can talk to. Gold says that his wife Michelle Dessler, was also killed that same day, and his father and mother were already deceased when he was a child. Only known friends and associates they have on file is a former CTU Agent name Jack Bauer who also happened to be the last person Tony saw alive. Walker then asks Gold to pull up Mr. Bauer's profile, and his current whereabouts. Gold impressed by Mr. Bauers resume realys the information to Walker, and says he is actually in Washington D.C. standing trial today for past actions that have occured during his duration at CTU Los Angeles.

Walker thanks Gold, and tells two agents to drive her up and take her to the Washington Senate Building, where Jack's trial is about to start.

WASHINGTON SENATE BUILDING

Jack sits at a table in a room near the court room, and is going over some papers with his lawyers before entering the courtroom for the trial.

Meanwhile a split screen shows Agent Walker inside the FBI car, pulling up Jack's profile again and going over it, President Allison Taylor wrapping up her press conference, and Ethan Kain receiving another phone call from the FBI Field office confirming that a threat is highly imminent


ABANDON INDUSTRIAL BUILDING

Tony is sitting behind his desk in a dark office building. Outside his office, a handful of people are setting up computers, and wires. This safe house is about to become the base of operations for their mission. Tony's phone rings. The man on the other line asks Tony how things are coming along, and if he is going to be able to carry out this task. Tony assures the man that he has it under control, and everything should be ready within the next two hours. The man on the other line says good and hangs up. The camera switches to the other man, and is revealed to be none other than Jonas Hodges (Jon Voight)
