Who do you think Jack should be in a relationship with?

Throughout the series, Jack's been with several women. Who do you think was (is) best for Jack and why? Do you find this valuable?

Chloe, huh? Hmmm...I don't think I can see that one...

There was another female character a couple of seasons ago (whose name I can't remember now) that I thought was going to come back. She was a main character who's sister was in trouble...anybody remember her? Anyhow, she came back at the very beginning of the next season and then totally disappeared. I always figured she was going to end up with Jack or something, but it never happened. In fact, I thought it was wierd the way she appeared next season and never tied back in. Anybody know what I'm talking about?

I think you're talking about Kate Warner from Season 2.
I liked her, too. They looked good together!

Yep that's Kate Warner. I don't really think they will ever get together after what happened in season 2.5 Which was the Twenty Four Video game season. She gets kidnapped and now he realized that if he is with her. She is liability to himself because of his enimies.

I don't consider the game to be canon, but I never thought that Kate would be back either (even without the story from the game).

I think that Kate came into Jack's life at a time when she was able to help him transition from the loss of Teri to the rest of his life but, as is often the case with transitional relationships, I don't think that they ever were "meant to be" either.

Wild-Kat, I didn't think that her appearance in s3 was left hanging either. They showed us, via that phone call, that Kate and Jack had been together and that they'd broken up... and I don't think there really was anything else to know about it.

I don't see Jack and Chloe together (and never did). I think that they work friends who think highly of one another and feel great affection towards one another in that context. But that doesn't have to be a romantic thing. I've never thought that Chloe was googly over Jack or that she does the things she does to help him because she's got a thing for him either. I think she helps him because she believes what he's doing is right.

I think that, at this point in his life and even though they haven't been together in years and probably never will be, Audrey is the woman Jack loves. I also believe that he genuinely let her go at the end of s6 and I don't know if they'll ever be together again. I'm not sure that we'll ever see Jack in a romantic relationship again, but I'd certainly love to see him find someone to love who loves him back. :)

Yes, that's it! Kate! Thanks! I guess I don't remember the phone call...that was so long ago! I just remember that she showed up in the next season briefly then that was it.

As for Jack not being good for her, Jack (though I just love his rogue way) is not good for ANY women, as they all end up being kidnapped, killed, tortured, etc. Of course, I guess this is the whole appeal of the show...it constantly leaves you breathless from one thing to the next.

I didn't mean to say that Jack wasn't good for her. I just don't think that theirs was a relationship that was "meant to be" in a long-term way. Often the case when people are emerging from a very difficult end to a previous relationship (as Jack was, to put it mildly, doing in terms of losing Teri)... but not a reflection of "good for" or "not good for" in terms of either of them, imo.

Re: Jack not being good for any woman... ;) Well, as you say, it's a function of the kind of show it is that Jack's women are put in danger. He can be not good for me ANYtime! :)

LOL! Annabelle! (about the "not good anytime").

Actually, sorry, I was responding to Kaleb's comment about Jack realizing that he's not good for her.

I agree a relationship for Jack is always a plot for disaster. That's exactly why we don't see his daughter on the show anymore. She always got kidnapped, hurt, trapped in CTU durring the centox gas realease and other crazy stuff. I really got tired of her character after the second season or first season for that matter. I really didn't like it when they brought her back in season 5. That was another low point for the show.
